Meet Yuga –Curzon’s new graphic designer

It’s now been a few weeks since Yuga Thavarasa, our newest team member, joined Curzon PR as a graphic designer. Although the last few weeks have whizzed by, rather than keep him all to ourselves, we thought it was time for everyone else to meet him too.

Welcome to the team, Yuga! How would you describe the work that you do?

Thanks for the warm welcome. I like to describe myself as a ‘visual communicator’.  I communicate visually through design. In my job, I create materials for a variety of clients to help them clearly present their messages and intentions with ease to their audience.

Because humans are extremely visual beings, design is one of the leading content formats consumed today. I love what I do and I get a lot of satisfaction from being able to express my creativity.

What excites you the most about working at Curzon PR?

I enjoy working with the fully remote team of experts and with the different clients in several countries and diverse industries, from space, to education, to fintech.

I’m particularly excited about the opportunities to learn and do new things, and there’s a lot of emphasis on growth at the company. It’s also been fascinating to work with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds who all bring unique skill sets to the table. I think our clients benefit from the diversity that the company embraces.

When do you work the best?

I wouldn’t say there is a specific situation when I work best, as I find that I am a very adaptable person. However, being able to communicate as part of a team, playing my role as a creative cog in the engine and gathering information from different sources allows my ideas to flow unhindered.

What is one activity outside of work that you enjoy?

During my university days, my housemates and I played a lot of makeshift table tennis and I ended up getting quite good at it, so that is something I find entertaining and I actively do with others. However, in my personal alone time, I will always go back to my passion for gardening, as I have always been surrounded by wildlife and plants at home so I know a lot about the natural world and connect well with it.
