Strategy

OBJECTIVE

Curzon PR was brought on board by the UK Secretariat of Imran Khan’s political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for a policy briefing and media relations campaign, the former on economic policy and bilateral trade relations between the UK and Pakistan, and the latter on the controversial issue of drones.

CAMPAIGN

Curzon targeted strategic key industry leaders who would benefit from the briefing. Curzon then extended invitations to high profile corporate executives and parliamentary members with specific interests in the areas of UK-Pakistan political and economic relations. For a media relations campaign around the event, targeted media included the British-Pakistani Diaspora and UK Business Press. To communicate Khan’s strong stance on drones, Curzon targeted top-tier international press to arrange exclusive one-on-one interviews with the political leader in the UK.

RESULTS

The round table discussion was attended by a number of top business and political leaders, including Michael Wade, Chair of the Conservative Friends of Pakistan; David Abrahams, Vice President of RUSI; Jonathan Humble, International Business Manager of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Jason Choy, Chair of the Institute of Directors. The targeted media relations strategy resulted in significant pieces in publications including British Asian Diaspora and Pakistani Press. Meanwhile, top journalists from The Times and The Economist attended one-on-one exclusive interviews with Khan, with extensive coverage on the subject of drones achieved, including full-feature articles and multimedia interviews.
