MD and founder of Curzon PR, Farzana Baduel, has won the Businesswoman of the Year award at the British Muslim Awards 2016.

The British Muslim Awards, now in their fourth year, took place yesterday in Birmingham. The awards aim to reflect the significant role that Britain’s Muslims play in society.

As well as being an ambassador for women and ethnic minorities, Baduel stood out as an inspiration to all in the business world. Last year she successfully expanded Curzon PR into Dubai, with an office already established in New York. She has also teamed up with initiatives such as Creative Access, which aims to tackle the lack of ethnic minorities in the creative industries.

Baduel said: “Being recognised as a business ambassador for women and ethnic minorities will spur me on to build Curzon PR as an international PR agency and work as hard as ever to highlight the benefits a diverse workforce can have in the UK.”

The award follows a series of award wins for Baduel, including the Women of Colour Achievement Award 2015 by the Women Presidents’ Organization, Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2015 Asian Women of Achievement Awards and Asian Media Professional of the Year at the 2014 Asian Media Awards.

Curzon PR represents clients ranging from government projects for Russia, Japan, South Korea, Canada and Malaysia, to global corporates such as DLF, India’s largest commercial real estate developer. The agency’s consumer brands include Good Earth, India’s leading design house, and Missoni, the Italian fashion house.
