The much awaited international art fair in the Kingdom of Bahrain, ArtBahrain, has been announced to commence from 13 – 16 October 2015. Held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of the King of Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women, the event is committed to create, connect and inspire. ArtBahrain detailed the participating galleries and artists during the press conference on 19 May 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Manama. Galleries and artists from around the world were encouraged to join these leading names to participate in the art fair.

The very first ArtBahrain will exhibit the opening of Sacha Jafri’s Eighteen Year Retrospective World Tour. The full Retrospective Collection comprises of forty eight works, including four highly-coveted paintings from each of Jafri’s
twelve Collections from 1996-2014. A selection of these pieces have been handpicked and carefully curated by the artist for display at ArtBahrain. This will represent the first time that these works will be seen together.

Kaneka Subberwal, Co-founder of ArtBahrain, said: ‘Bahrain has a refined level of appreciation and talent for art, which makes it a great location for an international art fair. We are delighted to announce the dates as well as the participation of renowned galleries and artists for the first event, and are confident about establishing ArtBahrain as a premier art event regionally and internationally.’

ArtBahrain expects to host up to 200 international art collectors, close to 2,000 VIP clients and approximately 10,000 visitors, the majority of whom will be looking to buy. The event is set to be a culminating point for artists, art collectors and art lovers.

Housed in a grand marquee, fifty meters in diameter, ArtBahrain will be an internationally minded art fair that will serve as a platform where artists and galleries from around the world will share space, ideas and inspiration with local artists.
