Allan Forsyth: Vivid Light at Gallery Elena Shchukina

Allan Forsyth Vivid Light Exhibition London 2014

Media relations and Media Strategy

Task

Vivid Light was an exhibition of the recent works of the Scottish artist Allan Forsyth held at the Mayfair based Gallery Elena Shchukina. The photography-based exhibition ran from 6 February to 28 March 2014 and Forsyth aimed to reflect the drama of nature through a range of techniques including analogue and digital exposures, computer generated imagery and photograms.

Curzon PR was brought on board to provide Gallery Elena Shchukina with a national media campaign aimed at supporting and promoting the exhibition, as well as the gallery and its eponymous founder and curator Elena Shchukina.

Solution

As part of our media relations strategy we heavily targeted key publications in national, regional, local and specialist arts press, as well as working closely with Gallery Elena Shchukina in order to promote the exhibition.

A key part of Curzon’s strategy included selecting and liaising closely with key press through the hosting of several events including multiple private views, a journalist high tea press conference and a blogger’s brunch, with the aim of increasing the likelihood and quality of coverage of the exhibition.

Results

The exhibition and the media relations campaign was a resounding success and Curzon PR were able to generate 29 pieces of coverage across national, regional and sector specific press across print, online and broadcast publications. Particular highlights of the campaign included press coverage from publications including The Independent, Time Out Magazine, Wall Street International Magazine, Hunger TV and many more.
