The role comprises but will not be limited to the following main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Working across a range of sectors from Government, Corporate, Arts & Culture and Consumer
  • Writing pitches for targeted press
  • Researching clients and writing press releases
  • Monitoring media outlets such as; magazines, newspapers, blogs and social media in order to stay ahead of current trends, news, hot-button topics and evolving technologies
  • Maintaining spreadsheets to track press leads and press coverage
  • Creating quarterly media, content and event plans, reviews and end of project reports
  • Networking within the media industry to start to develop relationships with reporters, bloggers, and critics
  • Attending press events
  • Creating content for Social Media platforms, websites, blogs, newsletters
  • Updating weekly reports for social media platforms and newsletter figures for clients
  • Event management, including press conferences | promotional events | speaker opportunities and awards submissions for clients and Curzon PR
  • Undertaking research for client’s needs – venues, suppliers, dates etc

Essential Skills

  • Engaging, proactive self-starter with the confidence to use own initiative
  • 1-3 year’s work experience in a fast-paced PR company
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Copywriting skills
  • Confident communicator and presenter at all levels
  • Well organised with keen attention to detail
  • Experience in using social media as a marketing tool to increase followers
  • Excellent time keeping, with the ability to stick to deadlines as well as prioritising workload
  • Knowledge and exposure of corporate gatherings from planning to networking
  • Previous knowledge of both the media industry and PR world
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Understanding of digital space
  • Experience of using Hootsuite or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of current digital trends
  • Strong oral and written communication including the ability to adapt writing styles to target a specific audience
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness


Educated to degree level in a relevant field.
